Cookie & Storage Notice

Transparency First

Last updated: April 15, 2026

1. Overview

This notice explains how NaN Logic LLC and the NaNDesk widget use cookies, localStorage, and similar browser storage technologies. We believe in transparency: you should know exactly what data is stored in your browser and why.

The short version: The NaNDesk widget uses localStorage (not cookies) to remember returning visitors. This data stays entirely in the visitor’s browser and is never sent to NaN Logic. The nanlogic.com website uses essential cookies for authentication and basic analytics. We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking cookies. For full details on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

2. NaNDesk Widget (localStorage)

When a visitor interacts with a NaNDesk widget on a customer’s website, the widget may store a small amount of data in the visitor’s browser using localStorage— not cookies. This data is used solely to provide a better experience for returning visitors.

What Is Stored

Key Name

nandesk_{widgetId}

Where {widgetId} is the unique identifier for the specific widget deployment.

Data Contents

nameThe visitor's name (if provided during a previous chat)
lastVisitTimestamp of the visitor's most recent interaction
fieldsAny form field values the visitor previously submitted (e.g., email, phone, company)

sessionStorage

The NaNDesk widget may also use sessionStorage to hold temporary conversation state during an active chat session. sessionStorage data is automatically cleared when the browser tab is closed and is never persisted between sessions or transmitted to NaN Logic.

This data never leaves the browser.

localStorage and sessionStorage data is stored locally in the visitor’s browser. It is not transmitted to NaN Logic servers, not included in HTTP requests, and not accessible to any third party. It exists solely to allow the widget to greet returning visitors by name and pre-fill form fields for convenience.

3. nanlogic.com Website Cookies

The nanlogic.com website uses a limited number of cookies for essential functionality. These are the cookies you may encounter when visiting our site:

Authentication (Clerk)

Essential

Clerk, our authentication provider, sets cookies to manage your login session on the NaN Logic dashboard. These cookies are strictly necessary for authentication and cannot be disabled while using the dashboard.

Examples: __clerk_db_jwt, __session

Duration: Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent auth cookies expire after 7 days of inactivity.

Analytics (Vercel)

Functional

Vercel Web Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated page-view data to help us understand how visitors use our website. This data does not identify individual visitors and does not track you across other websites.

Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused and does not use cookies in most cases. When cookies are used, they are first-party only.

Duration: When present, analytics cookies expire within 24 hours.

4. No Third-Party Advertising Cookies

NaN Logic does not use any third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Period.

No Google Ads or Facebook Pixel
No cross-site tracking scripts
No retargeting or remarketing cookies
No data sold to advertisers

5. Your Choices

You have full control over the data stored in your browser:

Browser Cookies

You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging into the NaN Logic dashboard.

Widget localStorage

You can clear NaNDesk widget data from any website by clearing your browser’s localStorage for that site, or by using developer tools to remove the specific key.

Do Not Track

We respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. When detected, Vercel Analytics will not collect page-view data for your visit.

Incognito / Private Mode

Using your browser’s private or incognito mode will prevent any persistent storage. All cookies and localStorage data are discarded when the window is closed.

7. How to Clear Stored Data

Clearing Cookies

To clear cookies set by nanlogic.com, go to your browser’s settings and look for the option to clear browsing data. You can typically choose to clear cookies for a specific site:

ChromeSettings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data > See all cookies > Search "nanlogic" > Remove
FirefoxSettings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data > Search "nanlogic" > Remove Selected
SafariPreferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data > Search "nanlogic" > Remove
EdgeSettings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies > See all cookies > Search "nanlogic" > Remove

Clearing NaNDesk localStorage

To remove NaNDesk widget data stored on a specific website, open your browser’s developer tools on that website:

1Open Developer Tools (F12 or Cmd+Option+I on Mac)
2Navigate to the "Application" tab (Chrome/Edge) or "Storage" tab (Firefox)
3In the sidebar, expand "Local Storage" and select the website's domain
4Find the key starting with "nandesk_" and right-click to delete it, or select it and press the Delete key

Alternatively, you can clear all localStorage for a site by running localStorage.clear() in the browser console. Note that this will remove all localStorage data for that site, not just NaNDesk data.
